TU Delft, 2016
Studio: Msc1 Methods & Analysis
Site: Muide Meulestede
Selected for the ARGUS annual
This project contains future proposals oriented to improve the quality of Muide Meulestede. The projects consists of a catalog of actions that aim to create future atmospheres, working in different scales and time lines. It seeks to bring a new configuration to the public space, giving a new life both to the historical and cultural traces present in the island.
We define an architecture based on its surroundings, on the existing atmosphere of the island. Developing a physical connection between the colors, materials, textures, and sounds of the past, present and future. The intervention is based on flexible and versatile structures that grow in a mix between the existing and our project, interacting with the built environment and adapting to the indeterminancy of the future.
The ‘Urban Surgery’ consits in a strong understanding and perception of physical and mental presence, leading to an unusual reflection upon life and space of Muide. Therefore the character and the imperceptible qualities are reformulated in a very specific and rigorous way.
This project was created in cooperation with Marina Bonet, Veronica Cristofoletti and Matteo Andrenelli.
